Description
My “Fanfare for the Hallé” was written to be some of the first music played in the Bridgewater Hall after nine months of silence. It begins tentatively at first, with two muted, canonic trumpets on either side of the hall, but becomes more confident and indeed defiant until it ends in a blaze of brass chorales. – Huw Watkins
