Description

I am convinced that in my return to the sources of ancient tragedy, I am not only writing a contemporary work, but am also doing so with the awareness that I can express the spirit of universal harmony through our myths. Agamemnon kills his daughter: he is defying universal law; Clytemnestra kills Agamemnon and also defies universal law; Electra and Orestes become instruments of this universal law, but in killing their mother they continue the act of entanglement and trigger a new cycle of criminal acts.
I have the impression that I am penetrating the source of human existence in the characters of Clytemnestra and Electra and am descending deep into the human soul to succeed in depicting all its (lack of) depth. Mikis Theodorakis
