Cinema

The piece is inspired by film music, movies and the fundamental role strings have played in the history of cinema. It is an eclectic work that highlights shamelessly the great complexity of emotions provided by strings: they are warm, passionate, furious, lyrical, joyful, rough, sweet, bittersweet, epic, euphoric, romantic and mysterious. In the piece, I played around with characters, gestures, textures as well as harmonies oft en associated with fi lm music, combining them with my own musical language and exploring cinematic storytelling through music.
