Description
I try to produce the musical universe of Eastern music by using Western instruments. Tone appears and vanishes into space in every moment. Each tone involves silence inside of itself by nature. The repetition of the birth and death of tones is produced by Pneuma (wind – breath – spirit). The harp represents the human (shaman), while the orchestra represents nature. The song of the harp is born from the breath of the wind and is resonant with the orchestra, then fades away. Finding out and listening to the process was how I composed Aeolus. I dedicate this work to Naoko Yoshino and Robin Ticciati. Toshio Hosokawa
