Description
Inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac’s book L’Autre Monde, and his ability to communicate the vision of perfect movement creating an instant of total beauty, darkness or claustrophobia for example, Hesketh writes ’It was qualities such as these as well as a marvellous plasticity of imagination that drew me to the text; the musical work also seeks to reflect such imaginings in sound. The piece is organic, unfolding by constant reforming of the opening material and thereby renewing itself, only briefly at the end referring
back directly to the beginning of the work.’
