There are three configurations which may be used to perform this work, :
1. Normal symphonic complement - no reed players.
2. Symphonic complement plus reed players. In this case, the orchestral instruments tacet during the sections marked “Cue”, and the reed players tacet during the sections marked “in absence of”.
3. Reed players replace symphonic clarinets.
