What The Webb Telescope Sees

Composer in residence at Theater Magdeburg, Gerald Barry’s new work for chamber orchestra explores the reaches of space unveiled to us by the Webb Telescope. Beginning in the low registers, the music climbs higher and higher, exploring the vast reaches of the unknown. With the James Webb telescope, NASA has been able to capture high quality images revealing a universe never seen before. Above us, thousands of young stars, distant galaxies and glowing gases of the Tarantula nebula continue to enthral.
