Turnage has a natural affinity for the voice. This is shown here with the use of classic texts by Stevie Smith (The Singing Cat), Thomas Hardy (Last Words) and Walt Whitman (Song of Myself). These 3 Songs were written for Gerald Finley who created the role of Harry Heagan in Turnage’s highly successful opera ”The Silver Tassie”.
