Détails du produit
Description
The title ‘Sæwol’ is an ancient word deriving from the same source as ‘sea’ or ‘soul’ in English, and as ‘Seele’ in German, and describes the form, shape and quality of this work: the soul belongs to the sea, it comes from the sea and is returned to the sea.
The piece begins with the echo of the vibraphone evoking the calm surface of the sea; countless particles of sound are released again and again by the string orchestra which come together to form an immense tonal wave. The particles are swallowed up by the wave; they continue wandering in search of the sea and ultimately return to it, into the soul’s final haven. Atsuhiko Gondai
