Rococo Variations

Until the early 20th century, it was common practice to perform solo concertos in chamber music form. This arrangement of the Rococo Variations by Peter Tchaikovsky continues this tradition. In addition to the solo cello, a classical wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon) is used. The sound of this ensemble forms a clear contrast to the sound of the cello and thus the solo part is particularly well perceived. The specific sounds of the individual instruments of the quintet also offer an exciting, wide variety of sounds. The focus of this arrangement is on the chamber music interaction between the musicians.
