This brochure provides essential information on new orchestral material and piano reductions of Richard Wagner’s major operas prepared on the basis of the Complete Edition. We provide a highly detailed description of the various versions of Der fliegende Holländer and Tannhäuser and a comparative overview of the reduced versions of the Ring des Nibelungen and Parsifal by A. Abbass and G. E. Lessing. Suggestions are given for imaginative concert planning with operatic exerpts, Richard Wagner’s concert works and the works of contemporary composers which make reference to his music.
