Matteo de Monti was born in Amsterdam and studied singing with Denis Dowling and Otakar Kraus in London. He has sung in the large opera houses in Europe and the United States, at the Salzburg Festival, and in the Berliner Festwochen. As a performer he has worked closely with the stage director George Tabori, as a protagonist in productions of "Moses und Aron", "Bluebeard’s Castle", and "Der nackte Michelangelo". He has sung leading roles in countless world and national premières, including works by Peter Maxwell Davies, Wolfgang Rihm, Hans Werner Henze, Jan Müller-Wieland, and Marc Anthony Turnage. In addition to numerous radio and television performances he sang with great success in the German première of Kurt Weill’s "Weg der Verheißung", with guest performances in New York and Tel Aviv.Produits
