À propos de Martina Berther

Martina Berther (1984) was born and grew up in Chur and currently lives in Zurich. She is a multi-faceted electric bass player and composer in the Swiss music scene. Her sound spectrum extends from pop to experimental music. She tours internationally with her solo project as well as with the duo Ester Poly, the trio AUL, and the singer Sophie Hunger. She is active in interdisciplinary projects, composes music for films, and works as a multi-instrumentalist and studio musician.
In 2012, she completed a Masters Degree in music pedagogy and jazz performance at the Lucerne Hochschule. In 2018 she was awarded a year’s work fellowship from the city of Zurich. She received the Swiss Music Prize in 2020. In 2022, she curated the Taktlos Festival.
