Hiromi Ishii finished her composition studies with Professor Tsuneya Tanabe at the Musashino Music College in Tokyo. Before, from 1998, she had pursued postgraduate studies in electroacoustic composition at the Dresden Musikhochschule with Professor Wilfried Jentzsch. After having passed her concert exams, she became a member of the German Society for Electroacoustic Music (DeGeM). From 2001 until 2006 she studied with Professor Simon Emmerson at the City University, London where she passed her Ph.D. exam. Her research work Composing electroacoustic music relating to Japanese traditional musicwas supported by the English ORS Award Scheme scholarship. She was invited to the CYNETart Intermedia Festival, the International Symposion of the Folkwang Hochschule, the Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival (supported by the Japan Foundation) and at ZKM in Karlsruhe as a guest composer in 2006. Her music has been presented by the British Sonic Arts Network and broadcast by the WDR, MDR, Radio Berlin and Radio Antwerp (Belgium).Produits
