The pianist Bella Kalinowska and the violist Semjon Kalinowsky have enjoyed
 successs performing as the “Duo Kalinowsky” at home and abroad since 1991. One of the main emphases in their wide-ranging repertoire is on works by female composers of the 19th century. Born in the Ukraine, the husband-and-wife duo have been residents of Lübeck since 1999. Through their activities as arrangers and editors they both contribute to the extension of the viola repertoire with new works.
