Dido and Orfeo was Gavin Bryars’ third collaboration with choreographer Édouard Lock and La La La Human Steps. Using Bryars’ music based on Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, the ballet lends a contemporary angle to two tragic love stories inspired by baroque opera.
