Das Signal

In the dialogical combination of music and text, „The Signal“ offers a deeply moving experience. The composition is based on poems from the collection „Ich höre das Herz des Oleanders“ (1977–79, 1984) by Rose Ausländer. With the music they are interwoven into a total work of art.
The approximately 9-minute work can be performed in various event formats such as performance, concert, reading, memorial event and church service. Divided into five sections by the poems, individual parts can be extracted or pauses or other dramaturgical elements inserted between the sections depending on the occasion. A professionally trained speaking part is optional, the text can also be read by amateurs. The organ should have at least two manuals and pedal, registration is possible without a composing system and assistance.
