Description
The Hindemith Complete Edition publishes the score of the opera in four acts Cardillac (new version) in two volumes: in volume I,5-Part A the First and Second Acts together with an introduction, the reprint of the last valid version of the libretto, first or unused libretto drafts and scenarios by Hindemith, Gertrud Hindemith and her libretto criticism as well as Ferdinand Lion's commentary on the two versions of the opera and an introduction to Hindemith's libretto by the theater critic Siegfried Melchinger; in the present volume I,5-Part B the Third and Fourth Acts, the original version of no. 16 and the Critical Report.
