anordnen/verschieben, Benjamin Schweitzer’s first dance theatre project, was commissioned by the Sächsischer Musikrat [Saxony Music Council] together with the Berlin choreographer Martin Nachbar. The concentrated abstract ‘chamber dance theatre’ is based on an improvisatory structure in which seven different musical dance subjects can be combined and overlapped in a perpetually changing order.

Description

This work contains music created from improvisational instructions and consists of seven different themes: Improvisation is a moment of total freedom without any directions. Elevation attempts to reproduce the moment of weightlessness in dance through the use of harmonics. Pathos creates a dark tremolo sound with dynamic peaks and troughs. Solo is restricted to sparse gestures. Punkte/Verzögerung is a game with collective entries and expectant pauses. Murmeln develops a texture of tonal and sound sequences. Finally, Wiederholung/Loops combines aspects from the other sections with new material. Benjamin Schweitzer
