Winter Songs Version V: Forgotten Light

Winter Songs V is the last instalment of the Winter Song series. The series is based on a mixed septet of low instruments, which is the basis for the next four versions, each with another group of added instruments, where the septet undergoes transformations. In the 5th version, some of the original septet text is retained, as well as some parts of Winter Songs IV, but underneath these old remnants a new archaeological layer is revealed: a love song. This is the ‘heart of the piece’. The singers will sing mostly in various forms of unison, their voices creating a ‘composite voice’ which will be androgynous, hallucinatory and unearthly.
