Description
Under Neonlight I was an attempt to achieve intense expression: the music is ‘deep frozen’ in the manner of dry ice which can both freeze and cause burns. A further inherently contradictory image was also important to me: frenetic standstill and neon light. My preoccupation with Be-Bop (Charlie Parker), Cool Jazz (Miles Davies) and the group Weather Report (Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter) had a significant impact on the melodic, rhythmic and harmonic design of the composition.
