Product Details
Description
Both the chapel from which this piece takes its name, and the Tate Gallery in St Ives, Cornwall hold works by James Hugonin, which proved to be an important stimulus for Gavin Bryars when writing this work. St Nicholas' Chapel stands on a small island which overlooks the Tate Gallery across the bay. Hugonin’s studio in Northumberland overlooks the Lindisfarne islands, and holds a similar physical and spiritual connection to the setting in Cornwall.
