Description

Mother Teresa often surprised her interlocutors by offering a short poetic text in place of a visiting card. In 2013, Pēteris Vasks set one of these prayers for peace to music. The text reflects on silence and prayer, moving through themes of faith and love, before concluding with the words, ‘and the fruit of service is peace.’ This moving choral work, with its compactly interwoven, elegiac musical flow, has already been performed over 200 times in various arrangements around the world.

--------------------------

Also available for a-cappella choir apart from the versions with Organ or string orchestra: the Prayer for Peace of Saint Mother Teresa in a simple, densely woven musical setting as a romantic elegy. Ideal for bathing in the sound of large choirs and great acoustics.
