The composer' s identity has not yet been clarified for sure. The Sonatas op. 4 can be dated back to around 1730. Both booklets of this edition were carefully edited on the basis of the original print, any additions made by the editor are clearly marked. These pieces, originally written for two flutes, have been transposed a third upwards to enable recorders to play them.
