Commissioned by The Little Singers of Tokyo, this piece is dedicated to the Singers and their Director, Saeko Hasegawa. It was composed as a requiem for Toro Takemitsu. The first performance was given by The Little Singers of Tokyo, conduced by Saeko Hasegawa at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Tokyo on 19th March 1997.
