The well-known “Cellissimo” series contains popular standard works and new discoveries for tuition and concerts. The present volume “Serenade” presents 30 enjoyable performance pieces from the Romantic era. There is much to discover: virtuoso and lyrical character pieces such as Berceuse, Elégie, Humoresque, Meditation, Mélodie, Nocturne, Romance, Tarantelle, and Valse de Concert, arrangements of popular pieces by Grieg (Anitra’s Dance), Fauré (Après un rêve) or Rachmaninoff (Vocalise) as well as original compositions by virtuoso cellists such as Dotzauer, Goltermann, Offenbach, van Goens.
