Description

The triumphant collaboration between Mark-Anthony Turnage and saxophonist Martin Robertson, jazz drummer Peter Erskine and guitarist John Scofield with Blood on the Floor led to a closer collaboration between Turnage and John Scofield, whose music he loves. Scorched was the result – the title is a derivative of ‘Scofield Orchestrated’ – though the work goes beyond simple arrangement. Rather it is the synthesis of two composer’s highly individual but ultimately compatible musical worlds.
