Description
This virtuoso piece for violin and piano was composed in 1855 by the Polish violinist and composer Wieniawski. It is one of Wieniawski's masterpieces, bursting with his typical virtuosity and loved by countless violinists. The four-part composition begins with a very fast, passionate Presto section in G minor. It then changes dramatically to a bright, gentle Tranquillo section in G major, which offers a broad spectrum of violin-inspired virtuosity. Finally, the Cantabile section in D major, overflowing with beautiful songfulness, returns to the opening section and leads the piece to a swift conclusion.
This edition contains stimulating bowing and fingering instructions by Tsugio Tokunaga, one of Japan's most renowned violinists.
