Scetches - Don't Ask Just Play
Product Details
Description
After the successful debut of the 1992-album “Different Places” - chosen as pop-CD of the month by AUDIO magazine (1992/3) - young jazz-funk-pop formation Scetches comes up with their new, invitingly entitled CD “Don't ask- Just play”. “Never cause a bore” is the motto of creative team Christoph Titz (trumpet) and Werner Lauscher (bass). Again strongly supported by keyboarder Michel Bisceglia, Marc Lehan on drums and Roland Peil on percussion the boys have been working hard in the studio to come up with a killer of an album.
High expectations got more than satisfied by the quintet: Powerful grooves, distinctive harmonies plus a whole lot of dynamic and sound-collages were mixed to an innovating crossover-cocktail.
Outstanding on these recordings is the feelingly expression and tuneful playing of trumpeter Christoph Titz.
This album includes two vocal-tracks with pop-appeal, sung by featured American singer Dorretta A.C. Carter: “Don't walk away” and “Woman Wild”.
A game without frontiers, a lot of variety and ideas made this CD of Scetches - considered one of Germany's best jazz-formations - to an irresistible mixture one should, as the title already demands (Don‘t ask-) just play!
