George Gershwin completed Rhapsody In Blue in 1924, and it was one of the first orchestral works to fuse together blues, jazz and classical styles to create a distinctly American orchestral sound, and has been a staple of American concert music for the last 100 years. This abridged arrangement for string orchestra features all of the prominent themes of the original concerto.
