Phoenix resurrexit
Product Details
Description
Phoenix resurrexit is focused on creation mythology and the phoenix from the perspective of space travellers in orbit. Christian Jost comments: ‘In adherence to the primal concept of creation, this permanent fl ux in the ebb and fl ow of life, I have conceived a plot which I have titled as an Odyssey in four parts.’ The decisive sources of inspiration were the moon landing which the fascinated composer watched on TV and above all, Stanley Kubrick’s mythical space epic 2001 – A Space Odyssey (1968). Paying homage to this pioneering fi lm which is also divided into four similarly named sections, Jost focuses on existential philosophical questions addressing the origins of life, the apocalypse, transcendency and revelations against the background of the universe and high-tech space exploration.
