About Yannis Kyriakides
Yannis Kyriakides, born 1969 in Limassol/Cyprus, emigrated with his family in 1975 to Great Britain, and has lived in Holland since 1992. He studied musicology at York and later composition with Louis Andriessen. He currently lives in Amsterdam. As a composer, he works on new forms and mixes of media, synthesizing disparate sounds sources and spatial and temporal experiments. He has composed over 100 pieces and received numerous awards, including the Gaudeamus Prize 2000 and the Special Prize of the Ars Electronica 2006. He runs the label UNSOUNDS, is Artistic Director of the Ensemble MAE and teaches composition in Den Haag.Products
