About Janusz Krzysztof Korczak

Janusz Krzysztof Michał Korczak, born in Cracow in 1994, is a composer, conductor, organist and initiator of sacred music events. He began his musical training at the age of 18 when attending the singing class of Katarzyna Słota-Marciniec at the Bronisław Rutkowski Music School. In addition, he took lessons with Grzegorz Łucki at the "Lucky Greg" Private Center for Music Education and took a course in Organisation of Sacred Music Events of the Catholic Light Life Movement which had a strong influence on his fascination with sacred (choral) music.
After graduating from high school in 2013, he began to study church music in the organ class of S. Susi Ferfoglia at the John Paul II Catholic University in Cracow.
He received his first knowledge of composition from Maciej Jabłoński and began to study composition with Anna Zawadzka-Gołosz at the State Academy of Music in 2016.
He is also the conductor and artistic director of the Cracow chamber choir Accordo and very active in academic groups related to his field of expertise. Apart from that, his focus of interest is the music and liturgical tradition of the Roman-Catholic Church. Through his practical musical and compositional work, he wants to contribute to the improvement of the musical quality of church services.
