About Antonio Tarallo
Antonio Tarallo attended the piano class of Ennio Pastorino at the Istituto A. Peri in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and received a diploma at the completion of his studies. In addition to piano, he studied harpsichord and participated in the master classes of Emilia Fadini and Vincenzo Balzani. At the Istituto musicale Franco Vittadini in Pavia, he received the Diploma Superiore Accademico.
Tarallo has appeared in concerts presented by the Amici della Musica in Arezzo, the Società dei Concerti and the Serate Musicali in Milan, as well as the Società Gonfalone in Rome. His concert career has taken him to such important concert halls as the Manzoni in Bologna, the Verdi Hall at the Milan Con servatorio, the Romolo Valli in Reggio Emilia, and the Teatro Accademico del Bibiena in Mantua. In collaboration with the chamber orchestra Syntagma Musicum, Tarallo has also appeared in concerts in Austria and Switzerland. In the 1991–1992 season, he appeared as soloist with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rumania in Bacau and also in Milan.
Tarallo has been awarded prizes at important competitions, such as the International Piano Competition of the Chopin Society in Rome, and the Camillo Togni Competition in Gussago. He was also awarded the Prize of the City of Albenga. With Fabio Grasso, he formed a piano duo in 2004. Among his CD recordings are a production with the Orchestra del Gonfalone in Rome under the direction of Francesco Vizioli and, with Fabio Grasso, a recording of piano compositions by Joseph Robbone.
Tarallo is a regular member of the jury for the International Competition for Piano and Orchestra of the city of Cantù as well as the Piano Talent Competition in Milan. Since 2004, he has taught young piano students in special master classes in Varallo Sesia, which is sponsored by the Associazione Valsesia Musica. He is currently professor of piano at the Conservatorio di Musica F. A. Bonporti in Trento.
