Oyster Lullaby

The oyster raft swaying quietly on the water surface seemed like a cradle, and the countless rows of shellfish, necklace-like beneath the sea, seemed to breathe soundly in their sleep. In Hiroshima, where the seawater contains elements of tears more than in other regions, the sea changes its expression according to the flow of the tide and the brightness of the light.

Unknown to man, the oysters have absorbed sad memories, cleansed and exhaled them, continued with each breath to slowly bring back the tranquility of the seawater since the end of war till today. Noriko Koide
