O Future
Product Details
Description
O Future is a militant work. Two groups of young people, one from San Francisco, the other from Caen/Normandy, meet. It's no longer a question of noting the damage caused by humanity to the earth, but of taking action. The children summon up the great forgotten wisdoms that teach us the need to be in harmony with the environment, such as Toltec mythology, Zoroastrianism and a San legend from South Africa. Two large choirs and their soloists, accompanied by a small ensemble, interact along a score steeped in traditional music: African rhythmic polyphony, gamelan, flamenco, in a growing tension leading to the dramatic question: O my Future, where have you gone?
