Nocturne

for horn and chamber orchestra
solo horn, 2 clarinets and strings
Edition: Performance material

Product Details

Description

Nocturne for solo horn, two clarinets and strings, one of Huw Watkins’ earlier published works, was first performed by David Jolley and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. The mood at the opening is one of uneasy expectation. With each successive entry of the solo horn, the music becomes more anguished and intense, until a fast climactic section is reached. The work ends slowly and quietly.
