Description
A virtuosic encore piece meant to be performed after great violin concertos, written for my fellow student and friend Rainer Küchl, who retired in the fall of 2016 after serving 45 years as concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the State Opera Orchestra. In doing so, I wanted to provide a time-lapse of his career, his name and origins, the signal-like awakening of his talent and the his life path, with rudimentary echoes of violin studies and concert literature. The piece was “tailor-made” for Küchl as an expression of gratitude for his assiduous effort for the world premiere of my work Time Recycling op. 22n.
