Description
May of 2013, I was just studying the music of the Andes and its fascinating concepts of sound when I was suddenly interrupted …Henri Dutilleux has just died. I listen to his works repeatedly and discover how intensely his music is linked to my sources of inspiration. These connections form the underlying scaffolding of the score of my work. Edouard Glissant once wrote: ‘From time immemorial, humans have undertaken all possible efforts in their attempts to discover the magnetic connections in the infinite manifestations of different kinds of being.’ On this basis, I should like to pay my respects to the great French composer from my own personal universe … Thierry Pécou
