Hommage à Paul Sacher

Bergman composed this work (for string quartet, xylorimba and piano) as a homage to the Swiss conductor and musical man of note Paul Sacher and even uses his name as musical material. The music exploits the contrasting yet complementary timbres of the instruments, at times lyrical and at others punchy.
