Hermes

Dynamic and fast Hermes is composed in 2004 as a commissioned work by the Finnish National Council of Music. It is dedicated to Kalle Välimaa and Pekka Kuusela, who also gave the premiere.

The subtitle, Toccata for Two Accordions, is an ample description of the work's character. It requires skills and fast reflexes, as rhytmic ostinatos shake hand with slow and peaceful sections.
