Gettin' into Groove

Getting' into Groove is a tutor and repertoire collection for piano, exploring the African-American popular music genre, its origins and building blocks. Melodies, rhythms and harmonies are introduced all the way from 19th century ragtime to 1980's hip hop. Each genre offers three distinct compositions, concise fact bulletins and references for listening the most important examples and forerunners of blues, stride, swing, bebop, funk... The recordings of all the pieces of this collection are available in YouTube, and the arrangements available for different ensembles broaden the spectacular view on the continuously changing music.
