Description

Widmar Hader’s cycle Die Mondleiter [The Moon Ladder] is based on texts by poet Katja Hajek that focus on the great spectrum of human experience. The song providing the work’s title is not only numerically at the centre of the cycle, but also the pivotal point of the musical structure: the other songs appear to strive towards and away from this key movement, at the same time forming musical pairs from the framing movements inwards, each characterised by a common musical parameter. Hader searches for close links to the text, illustrating and interpreting it through his musical design.
