Description
Lee Hoiby composed his Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in 1994, which received its première in 2012 by flutist Gregory Wolynec and the Gateway Chamber Orchestra. Wolynec states that ‘the first movement is very energetic, with virtuosic, lovely writing. The second movement alternates between moderately slow, not terribly slow, with a little more of a dancelike feel. It has really lovely harmonies.’
