Description
Chelsea Tango is a fanfare and tango in one movement commissioned by the Seattle Symphony. The impetus to write a tango came from a variety of sources. For one thing, I have long admired the tango, the street music and the dance, which are both urban and urbane, dramatic yet understated, filled with suspense, but with a dash of ennui. The piece is a nostalgic reflection of the neighborhood on 17th Street in New York City where I lived for about 12 years. Bruce MacC ombie
