Description
The gigantic camphor tree holds a special fascination for me. I am particularly impressed by how their leaves, twigs and trunks are connected together in a delicate and detailed system. Additionally, the camphor substance produced by the trees is a deterrent to moths and also has antibacterial and cardiotonic effects. I was inspired by this way in which the camphor trees protect their delicate structures, and aimed to write a piece dedicated to these fascinating giants. Osamu Kawakami
