The title …called dusk III is a reference to the final line of the short story ‘Lessness’ by Samuel Beckett: ‘Figment dawn dispeller of figments and the other called dusk.’ In the work several levels of music are independently subjected to a process of variation and simultaneously linked together to form a whole.
