Description
In this melodramatic setting of Johann Peter Hebel’s reflections on trees and humans entitled Baumzucht [Tree cultivation] from 1811, the text plays a more prominent role than the musical sections. Following a short prelude, musical events react sensitively to selected statements, and gradually we become aware of background melodies and sounds, such as traffic from far away, and a chainsaw. The latter can either be pre-recorded or played live.
