Anderseniana
Product Details
Description
My suite for solo flute Anderseniana draws its inspiration from two important sources: the unique, mesmerizing musicianship of my friend, the Danish flutist Janne Thomsen, and the magical world of the fairy tales by her ingenious compatriot Hans Christian Andersen. This music is not an effort to retell in music Andersen’s stories appearing in the titles of each movement; the aim is more often to paint a picture or a gentle caricature of a character appearing in the stories, or to somehow echo the general atmosphere of a tale. I have been tremendously inspired by these very unusual stories – their peculiar humour, warmth, tenderness, compassion, wisdom; mysterious, enchanting and uplifting atmosphere. Olli Mustonen
