Product Details

Description

One of Priaulx Rainier’s late works, Aequora Lunae [Seas of the Moon] is an impressive seven movement orchestral suite appealing to her fascination with the wildness of space and nature. The orchestra is divided into two sections representing the light and dark sides of the moon, with each movement embodying a different natural element. The piece was commissioned by the BBC and given its first performance at the 1967 Cheltenham Festival with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
